Our LASIK Open House from December 8th 2009

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Oh the weather outside was frightful, but the open house was so delightful. And since there was no place to go, ask questions about bladeless lasik!  OK, we’re not song writers, but we gave it a try.   Once again, many great questions were asked, and the attendees really enjoyed a tour of our licensed and accredited surgery center.  They really liked the idea of keeping the patient experience individual, maintaining a sense of total privacy and care.

As each person took their turn sitting on the foot of the laser bed, looking at a clock at 10 ft first with their glasses, then without, they realized how much Dr. Arrowsmith can do for them.  After the tour and quite a good question and answer time, Lisa F. was our winner of 2 eyes for the price of 1.  Congratulations!!!  Lisa is a college student who scheduled her surgery during her Christmas break. Her parents are giving this to her for a Christmas present.  Now that is truly a gift that will continue giving.

All of us at Arrowsmith Eye Institute hope all of our past and future patients a most happy holiday season.

Open House held November 10th 2009

So what is monovision? That was the main question which came up at this month’s open house.  What exactly is the difference between monovision or blended vision you can get with Contact Lenses vs. Bladeless Lasik?  Dr. Arrowsmith explained the benefits of this procedure for those who are “a little more advanced” in age.  Many people can gain better vision with monovision, and rid themselves of their bifocals.  Rimon A. was the grand prize winner of 2 eyes for the price of 1.  Congratulations, Rimon!  His main concern was that of dry eyes – he wondered if Lasik would cause this, or if you already had dry eyes, would you still.  The answer was no and yes – Lasik would not cause this, and if someone had dry eyes prior to Lasik, they would have it after.

Persistence, persistence…

Our open houses have become so popular that even someone who wanted to come to one 2 months ago, and was unable, then last month was unable, but this month, came and won 2 eyes for the price of 1! That’s right, Truman S. finally made our open house and was the grand prize winner.  He said he was tired of dealing with his progressive lenses and really wanted to rid himself of being dependent on glasses.  He is scheduled for his free examination later this month.  We also had a gentleman who will be deployed soon who also wanted to be able to function without his contacts and glasses.  He will even have his exam and surgery this week.

We had a full house with great questions, especially about our “Cash for Clunker Glasses and Contacts” where people can receive up to a 30% savings if they pay with a check, cash or money order.  Unused flex plans also were a discussion point as some people have been holding onto their plans depending what the economy is doing – with an upturn in consumer confidence, more people are making the decision to change their lives and have their Bladeless LASIK.  What had been out of reach for so many is now becoming a reality.  Watch for our next open house on our website, email us to reserve your spot, and see the world more clearly than ever before!

Open House from July 14, 2009

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Once again, we had a full house.  The weather was great outside, questions were plentiful, not to mention the great spread of food served.  In addition to the people who wanted to learn about Bladeless LASIK, three patients who had gone through their examinations waiting for their surgeries attended.  One of them, Kela R., was the grand prize winner of 2 eyes for the price of 1.  Congratulations, Kela!  She told us she is planning a trip to Hawaii and can’t wait for her surgery.

A young lady and her mother also were here and they both scheduled their free exams on the same day to make a true family affair.  Dr. Arrowsmith once again did a wonderful job answering questions concerning cataract surgery after LASIK, dry eye syndrome, the various lenses used in cataract surgery and other advances in the field of ophthalmology during his career.  Stay tuned for dates on our upcoming open houses.  Hope to see you there!

Open House from April 14th, 2009

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

We had another successful open house! Many questions arose over the advanced lens implants such as the Crystalens and Restor lens available at Arrowsmith Eye Institute as an alternative to Bladeless LASIK. In most cases, Bladeless LASIK will be the “surgery of choice” for patients, but for those “mature” patients, these lenses may prove to be better.

Terry J was our night’s winner of 2 eyes for the price of 1. He was concerned about how his vision would be after surgery as he is a pilot, but he was reassured that with the technology of the WaveLight Allegretto laser, glare, haloes and starbursts will not be an issue. He couldn’t believe he won as he stated he never won anything! Congratulations to Terry and the other attendees who scheduled their procedures.

Open House from March 10th, 2009

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Tuesday, March 10th saw another standing room only open house! Everyone came with lots of questions and couldn’t believe our facility with all the safeguards in place for the best patient care.

Many even said that they were leaning toward another practice, but when they saw what we offer as well as how we perform Bladeless LASIK and care-free cataract surgery, they decided they wouldn’t go anywhere than Arrowsmith Eye Institute. Kellye R. was the grand prize winner of 2 eyes for the price of 1 – she said she never won anything before! And, she set up her exam and surgery both on the following Friday! Congratulations Kellye!!

Open House from February 10th, 2009

Friday, February 13th, 2009

We had another great showing of people hoping to have their questions answered about Bladeless LASIK, cataracts and implantable lenses.  The open house was attended by couples where many were interested in both having vision correction, or a husband bringing in his wife in hopes she will be the winner of our 2 eyes for the price of 1 grand prize.  That is exactly what happened!  Wanda P. was brought by her husband who had LASIK with Dr. Arrowsmith 10 years ago!!

He still is not wearing any glasses and is close to 60 years of age.  We have at least one past patient each week call to give us a similar success story of their surgery.  Wanda will be having her surgery in February.  Many of the other attendees received large discounts on their surgeries as well.  Just about all commented that attending one of our open houses was the best way to get their questions answered – our next one is coming up Tuesday, March 10th from 6-8:00 pm.  Hope to see you there!

Open House from January 13th, 2009

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

The new year brings a new and exciting time for all, especially those who attended our January open house.  We had the largest group of people in a while asking questions about the procedure, wanting to see for themselves what makes us different, and see how we can truly make it affordable for them.  One family of 4 came from Lawrenceburg, TN to visit with us.

The parents wanted to give Bladeless LASIK to their children as a belated Christmas gift, and the father, Evan C. even won 2 eyes for the price of 1!  They are now looking at their schedules to see when they can all enjoy life without glasses and contacts.  Since there was a large number of people attending, we gave additional discount prizes helping to make it even more affordable.  Many questions were answered, including that Bladeless LASIK could help their reading vision.  Come out to our February 10th open house and get your questions answered.

Open House from December 9, 2008

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Despite the bad weather outside, the open house was very successful inside.  We even had a man who had radial keratotomy performed by Dr. Arrowsmith in the 80’s bring his wife and daughter to hear about Bladeless LASIK.  His vision is still great after all these years, not needing any glasses or contacts to drive.  Excellent results!  His daughter Elly F. won 2 eyes for the price of 1, and his wife won $1000 off her’s.

Both of them will be having their surgeries later in the month.  The whole family is looking forward to seeing better during the holidays, pun intended.  Other people who attended were surprised that not only distance vision can be corrected, but also reading vision and astigmatism at the same time.  And, one was amazed that tear duct plugs aren’t required for surgery and that Dr. Arrowsmith rarely needs to use them.

They all commented that coming to these informal open houses really shows them the difference Arrowsmith Eye Institute can provide over other practices.  Watch for news on our January 13th open house!  Hope to see all of you then!

Open House from November 13, 2008

Friday, November 14th, 2008

We had a good turnout at our open house. Many great questions were answered, and all present were taken for a tour of our facility. Everyone said they never imagined a surgery center such as the one at Arrowsmith Eye Institute ever existed – they all were put at ease as to what the surgical suites and equipment looked like. Congratulations Peter N as being chosen as our grand prize winner of 2 eyes for the price of 1!

Peter is an engineer who found out about the open house from our website. He wears glasses for distances and also wears monthly disposable contact lenses. He said he hates the hassle of glasses as he enjoys swimming and wants to read his alarm clock in the morning. He also added that he has been considering LASIK for 2 years. Due to his flex plan at work, he will be having his surgery in January 2009. Other prizes and discounts were also given out.
